Siquijor 2011: The Church, Waterfalls, and the Beach

After our Dumaguete trip, we went to the island of Siquijor.  We rode on a couple of these mini jeepneys to get around.

Dumaguete 2011: Apo Island

Dumaguete is a city in Southern Negros. It is famous for Siliman University and Apo Island, among others. Apo Island is one of the top snorkel and dive sites and what’s unique about it is the abundance of pawikans or sea turtles. I actually saw one just near the coast! Too bad I didn’t have an underwater camera.

I hope my “on land” photos make up for it.

Cebu 2011: Imperial Palace and Island Hopping

Part of my job is to get professional and industry updates. That year, the destination of an annual conference was in the Queen City of the South, Cebu! Specifically, it was in Imperial Palace, a 5-star resort in Mactan, which is basically an island surrounded by pristine white beaches.

Bacolod 2011: All Around the City

I decided to go to my hometown, Bacolod City, for my birthday. Since my closest friends all live in Manila, I “forced” them to go with me for a mini vacation. They would pay for the airfare as their birthday gift to me, and I will pay for everything else once they get there.

Of course I had to act like a tour guide and show them some of Bacolod’s landmarks.

First up is Balay Negrense, which is technically not in Bacolod but actually in Silay City and is nearer the airport. It’s an old ancestral house-turned-museum and is believed to be haunted.

Camiguin 2011: One-Stop Shop

A Camiguin local once told me back in 2009 that their island is a one-stop shop.  They have beaches, cold spings, hot springs, you name it.  Unfortunately, I was not able to tour back then because I was too busy examining a closed bank (hmmmph!).

On my second time going to Camiguin, my friends and I did it all!

Cagayan de Oro 2011: White-water Rafting

During our annual Teambuilding activity, we went to Cagayan de Oro and Camiguin.  When you go to CDO for a vacation, you should always take a sidetrip to Camiguin, but this is for another post.

In CDO, I think the only thing you can do other than food tripping is white-water rafting.

Bukidnon 2011: Dahilayan Adventure Park

I was sent to Iligan last year but during the weekend, we took a side trip to Bukidnon’s Dahilayan Park, where we heard has the longest zipline in Asia.

They had three lines that time and we tried them all.  Too bad I don’t have a digital picture of me in the longest one.  I have a video though.  But it’s for my personal viewing (dis)pleasure only.  This one was a shorter line, and the photo was taken by my friend.

Bohol 2010: The Beach Club

I am part of this professional organization that holds annual conventions.  It’s a real privilege to be sponsored by my company to attend that year.

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed that it was in Bohol. Not that I don’t love the Bohol. I do! I think the place is great!  But as you’ve seen in my previous posts, I’ve been there, done that.  I really hoped to go somewhere new.

But oh well.  Free travel is free travel, right?

Bohol 2009: Extreme Adventure Tour Danao

For our Team Christmas Party slash Teambuilding, we went to Danao Adventure Park. You can do a lot of things there but my Company can only pay for so much. Haha. So we had to choose only three activities we would like to do.

There’s rapel, zipline, sky ride, plunge, and trek to name a few. I chose the first three I mentioned.

Camarines Sur 2010: CWC and Caramoan

I merged CWC and Caramoan because there’s nothing to see really in CWC. It’s all about wakeboarding and we tried it!

Bohol 2009: The Tour

We hired a driver to drive us all around Bohol and its tourist spots.  He told us tidbits and trivia about each place but of course I forgot all about them.

Cebu 2009: Ayala Mall

While we were waiting for our friend, we hung out at the prettiest mall in Cebu, at least for me.  I love the picturesque gardens and the local restaurants in The Terraces.

We ate at Hukad and the view from there was beautiful.  We were not able to take pictures of our food though but as I remember, it was very fulfilling.

Cebu 2009: Sto. Nino Cathedral and Magellan's Cross

In 2009, I went on my first out of town trip with friends.  We chose Cebu-Bohol (because I never would have predicted that I’ll be coming to Cebu and Bohol for several times for free in the future). During these times, I also wasn’t really into photography.  I prefer to take pictures of my friends and I rather than the actual scenery (camwhoring, I know)… and we didn’t have a decent camera.

For the sake of a photodiary, here are a few photos of the Sto. Nino Cathedral and Magellan’s Cross in Cebu City.  These two landmarks are just beside each other.
