Singapore is at the top of my favorite places to visit because there I can find everything that I need —- shopping, food, entertainment, and nature! It’s rare to find gems like this. Being a highly-urbanized city, it’s pleasantly surprising - or refreshing - to see that greens and beaches are just a few minutes away.
We started our adventure within the city, touring courtesy of the top deck of the fairly abundant double-decker buses. The following pictures are just some of my “stolen” shots of the things we passed by while on the bus.
Here we are at Little India, a colorful place with the spiciest biryani I have tried.
Finally, we’re at the shopping district, Orchard Road. The buildings here are the tallest, the malls the poshiest (invented word). The thing that stood out for me, though, is the sidewalk ice cream sandwich (not pictured) for only one Singaporean dollar.
Roaming the eventful streets is great but not enough. If you want to see Orchard Road from the sky, you can go up to the skydeck of their tallest mall, Orchard Central. A word of warning to people scared of heights, you have to go through this really tall and steep escalator - maybe 5 or six of them. (Yeah, there’s an option to take the elevators but where’s the fun in that?).
FOr your courage, you’ll be rewarded with this view.
